    Piano Man
So Weds, Rich and I made the trek down to my Nan's to park our car meet up with half my family and head over to Shea Stadium for "Last Play at Shea."  The last concert for the stadium featuring the marvelous Billy Joel.  So we take the bus, then the train to the stadium and climb to literally the top of the stadium for our seats.  Called my cousin who is an MTA cop to see if he was working there, he was but over at the LIRR trainstation.  Called Alex to see if he was in his seats, he was, and some how I was able to pick him out across the stadium amidst 50,000 people.  Damn I have good eyes.

The concert itself was amazing.  But really I could listen to Billy snore and think he was spectacular.  He did sing a couple of songs that I didnt know, like his favorites that never became popular.  There were 4 guest performers Tony Benett, John Mayer, Don Henely (weird I know), and John Melencamp.  I could have cared less I just wanted Billy.  We didnt start the Fire, She's always a woman, Lullaby, River of dreams, Only the good die young, had people standing screaming and singing along.  Piano Man was absolutely breathtaking.  They turned out most of the lights and it was just a spot light on him.  Every single person stood and sang.  I can not even imagine the feeling of knowing that 50,000 people are singing the words you wrote.

Leaving the stadium is the real story, Remember 50,000 people most of whom came by the 7(subway) or the LIRR.  By the way there is only one stairwell to each of those. ONE!!!!!!  The concert went three hours and ended at midnight and all these people were hoping to get home by the next day.  Mary Ellen, Megan, Ryan, Rich and I grabbed hands and hoped that we would still have all of us at the end.  I swear to you this looked like a movie evacuation scene.  I think we decided that it was most like I AM LEGEND when the whole city is trying to make it over the bridges before they destroy them.  But basically it looked like any zombie movie in which everyone is trying to get away.  We opted not to take the train and walk the mile to the bus station to take the Q14 back to Nan's.  A few hundred people also chose this, so it looked like we were the survivors escaping while everyone else was stuck behind.  Let's just say that many movies were referenced on the walk.  We got to Nan's around 1 and then Rich and I drove home getting there a little after 3.

It was a long long night, but so totally worth it.  I am so gonna miss Shea Stadium and at least I know that it got to be TJ's first concert!

    update
Just thought I would update everyone that TJ and I are doing fine.  Still losing weight, its the best diet I have ever been on.  Rich is losing weight as well and is beginning to look like a cancer patient.  Even the guys at work tell him he looks horrible, but he is in total denial...lovely.

So my newest pregnancy quirk is that I cry every time I see baby things.  So its a tad embarrassing when I am in Sears baby department looking at onesies and start weeping.  Rich just thinks I am nuts.  Also we saw my parents this weekend and he commented to my mom about how I wont buy, touch, or look at raw meat cause it makes me gag.  She responded to him with "so lots of women have that, did you think she was faking?"  Yes yes he does.  He refuses to read any of the baby books and then says I am lying or making it up or my favorite: exaggerating, when ever I feel sick or gag.  I swear I wish he could be pregnant for an hour, not even a whole term, not even a day, just an hour...although I would be sad cause he jump off a bridge thus killing my baby.

    Sad news
Just to let everyone know the mighty Guinness had to be put to sleep yesterday.  My little "Guinea Pig" has been having seizures so it was her time.  I know she will enjoy biting and growling at every angel she sees.  I am sure there will be lots of horns and sirens for her to howl at.  She will be missed..well at least by some of us.  She will always be my baby girl.

    In Mourning

As you have all heard by now, Heath Ledger, my love, is dead.  I have only one true celebrity crush and it was him.  I think I will watch the new bat man over and over.  Also may watch the Patriot death scene a couple thousand times and pretend that is how he really died.  Ok everyone must go home and change, we are all wearing black in his honor for the rest of our lives.

P.S. Rich laughed like crazy when he heard and said that he was the one who did it.

Screaming Paris Hilton Sent Back to Jail
Is there something wrong with me that I think that is the greatest headline of all time. Is it also wrong that I get a sick satisfaction from seeing the pictures of her weep uncontrolably. I was horrified that she was let out to stay in her MANSION!!!! I mean were they kidding? So I am glad they rectified the situation.

    LETS GO METS
Yesterday Rich, Alex, and I headed off to Shea Stadium to watch the Mets vs Atlanta game yesterday afternoon. My friend Mike works for the team and he got me free tickets. He wouldnt tell me where they were other than Loge Reserved, which are the seats right after Box. Turns out we are directly behind home plate just under the press boxes. So the most beautiful day of the year we are sitting in a stadium with a breeze, out of the direct sun, watching the game, drinking beer, and eating hot hot dogs and peanuts. It was spectucular. When we sat down Alex looks over and says, "Cass you really pulled through on this one, I didnt know what to expect since they were free, but you really pulled through." When Mike came to visit Alex basically kissed his feet, and he got his card, so now he is excited that he can now get tickets too. Mike just loves to have people come and see games. Best of all, they KICKE Atlanta's ASS, 7-2. A couple of Homeruns, some great plays. We took the bus from my Nan's so we had to pay the bridge toll, $9 total, bus passes $8, and the greatest seats ever FREE Baseball=priceless. Wish I was a little closer so I could utilize it a little more.

Then this morning we went out for breakfast and looked for tag sales, we found a great hutch for $20 that Rich is gonna refinish and we are gonna use as a book shelf. Hes headed off to upstate NY for a couple of days for work. I am headed with Bailey to my Mom's to hit up the stores with her.

    ehh
So this has been kind of an ehhh week. I have had a major UTI all week and that has really sucked. Of course I dont have a doctor here so at first I didnt know what to do. Finally I ended up at a walk in clinic with Rich and in a waiting room with a whole lot of people with out insurance. I had a really cute doctor and that was awesome, but then he said he thought that I was pregnant and thats what gave me a UTI and Rich looked like he was gonna jump out a window. I knew I wasnt, but it was funny to see him sweat. Got medicine, the pain killer has me peeing bright orange so that is always fun. But now my pain medicine is out and it still hurts. These antibiotics better start killing fast or I am gonna get pissed.

    Bailey and Life
So Bailey is good. She ate a bag full of chocolate last friday so that was a bit of a scare. But she just crapped all over the place. She is getting bigger every minute, she has started howling and it is sooooo cute. She is totally just like a little kid. Its like I have my baby already. So far she hates cars, we are gonna have to break her of that.

Did our taxes. We are psyched getting $3,000 back from the feds. I cant enjoy it for too long cause we def wont be getting that much next year. I will be making double what I did last year so they will begin raping me in the ass then. For CT we ended up owing $23 how stupid is that? So that pretty much tells us that we will owe them a lot next year. Fortunately, because I am a consultant and not an employee I got to right off a whole lot of shit for my car...that was great. Now we just have to get a house and then we can right off the mortgage, etc.

Party for my mom this weekend went well. It was at Alexandra's in Jersey City. It is tech a studio apt so we were all squished in there, however, her kitchen is half of the whole place...its huge!!! As is their bathroom.

    Bailey
Ok she may be the cutest puppy ever to walk the planet, but she is a horrible sleeper. She wakes up every couple of hours or so and just wants to play. No matter how many times I explain that 3 am is not the appropriate play time she wont believe me. She is, however, much better at using the piddle pads and going outside. So we are very proud of her on that end. She is starting to recognize her name. She likes to run around in circles and one would think that would tire her out, but no. She has so many cute toys and she loves them all. She isnt at the terribly, horrible teething stage yet. Our shoes are still intact, but not for long.

The death of the Death Trap
So the little Red Neon, that has been trying to end my life for the past six months has finally died. It has a broken main seal (or something like that that has to do with the oil) and there is no way in hell I am paying thousands of dollars to fix it. So, Rich and I have started the exciting hunt for a new car. I have found one I like, its a 2006 pre-owned Hyundia Tucson in Nautical Blue for $18,200. It was the first car I saw though, so I dont want to make any decisions on it. We are going to do more shopping tonight. Rich likes the Toyota Rav4, but I didnt like the gas pedal and I found out today that the dealership its at is sketchy. One of the main benefits of my job is that I have all these people around me that think I am their grandkid and tell me all the dos and donts of New London. Another option is a chevy equinox that is at the dealer my parents go to, so I havent gotten to try that one yet. Basically we are looking for a mid size SUV that isnt toooooo horrible on gas and that I can eventually fit a baby seat in. Not to mention move furniture and such. So wish me luck!!!

    Introducing Mrs. Libardi
Ok so its all over....All the plans...all the stress...all the worrying..over in one amazing party. Turns out my wedding had a lot a snafus, most that I didnt even know about till two days later. So other than a melted cake, a frozen cake, staff that my mother almost murdered, a bartender that continuously went MIA and threatened the best man, and me having a panic attack right before introductions, everything was smooth sailing. In the end everything was perfect and everyone danced their asses off. The only problem with weddings is that you dont get enough time with everyone. I would have loved to talked with my friends more, but in the end I just wanted to dance.

I just started looking looking at pictures from the day and my veil and dress were really beautiful...I cant believe that I never get to wear them again. The flowers were definately the most beautiful thing that I have ever seen in my life. My girls looked great...luckily I have hot friends!!!! So my advise to all you who will all get married one day...lots of things are going to go wrong and there is nothing you can do about it. But in the end you still get to dance with the person that you love and you get to go home with him.

    Hecktic from this point on
Ok ladies I hope everyone is ready for a jam packed adventurous weekend. For me the crazyness starts today with dropping off the centerpieces, favors, placecards, etc; then picking up the rehearsal cakes and dropping them off as well; then taking the dog to her doggy hotel; then going to CCSU to drop off research; then going to the airport and picking up BABY CONNOR...and maybe my brother, but mostly the baby. Tomorrow is more running around then ending with my older sister practicing with the pianist. Friday on will be just caous so I wont even describe it. In the end I will be married...its wierd that all this work goes into one day and then it is over. At least I am comforted in knowing that it will be one hell of a party.

I am just glad to finally be able to start my life with Rich, no more driving back and forth, no more leaving everyweekend. Its just me and him together forever.

    curious
Is anyone else disturbed by the fact that brittney spears and "k-fed" continue to reproduce? Why doesnt her mother crush up bith control pills and just put it in her food...like Rich will do to me someday? Honestly there are just some people who should not be allowed to have babies...and she is at the top of the list. On a side note my sister was actually at that David Letterman taping, I will have to ask her if people threw up in the audience.

    My Hawaiian Shower
SO I thought I should update everyone on my weekend. Thank you to all those who made my bridal shower so wonderful. I had a marvelous time and realized what great friends and family that I have. I got some amazing gifts...I need to live in a mansion to store it all. I am going to have to throw quite a few parties to make sure that I use everything. Everyone who has them has to send me pictures...I will eventually be sending mine out. My mother definately out did herself on decorations, foods, and presents. The best had to be when she reduced me to tears over the bouquet angel she made out of her wedding dress, viel, and medals of my grandparents. The poem attached made me openly weep, as well as many of the other guests. There were too many gifts to list..needless to say they were all wonderful and thoughtful...except the ones from my mother-in-law. She gave me my china coffee mugs that she had ALREADY given me for my engagement but was storing at her house!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My mother almost jumped the tables to strangle her for her thoughtlessness. But oh well I have already accepted it. So thank you again to everyone...and dana I wish you could have been there, trust me we talked about you. Poor Jess Homer wanted to see another rendition of, "Hey isnt your mother dead."

    THANK YOU EVERYONE

    Introducing Aunt Cassie
YAY!!!!!!! After 36 hours in the hospital the baby is finally here. Pama was in labor over 24 hours...he is a very bad baby. He just wouldnt come out so they induced her TWICE...then he had to much medicine so his heart rate started to drop...so then he was an emergency C-section. This is a problem because Pama is allergic to latex and they didnt have those supplies on hand so they had to pump her full of penicillin so that she didnt die. So at 9:30 Arizona time on 10/18/05 Connor Eugene Blondel was born. But because of his emergency delivery they did not squeeze out all of the fluid in his lungs and he now has pneumonia. He will be in ICU for a week. I am really worried about the hospitals in Arizona. He is 8 lbs 2 oz and 19" long. He has dark brown curly hair and silver blue eyes. Eugene says he is beautiful and that he hasnt dropped him. Pama is very tired and she will be in the hospital for a couple more days too. The nurses say that he talks more than any baby in the nursery....he really is a Blondel..well really a McAuley cause that is where we get the talking from. I am so excited to see him. I have to mail out all his presents this week. He will be here in 4 1/2 weeks and then I become Godmother-Aunt Cassie.
